The Conway Stewart Wordsworth Cardinal Ripple is a classically styled fountain pen with elegant rounded features reminiscent of the ever-popular Winston – but is a smaller, lighter model.

Made from Ebonite

It is one of the few remaining ebonite pens available. This traditional hard rubber material was once the dominant material used in all pen production from 1905 up until the 1950’s. Being made from natural rubber, it has a slight smell to it that will bring back memories of those early pens. It is also more tactile to hold than modern acrylics, and has a warmth to it. Each pen is unique with the random mixture of reds and black, so you will always know your own pen as each one is individual and distinctive.

Only 16 available

We only have enough components to make 16 fountain pens, so if you want one, order now. It will be soon sold out.

Real Gold bands and 18ct Gold nib

The cap is adorned with two solid 9ct gold bands with a distinctive black band spacer that gives this pen a touch of elegance. The combination of gold and ebonite is at once both warm, rich and luxurious. Each pen is fitted with our 18ct gold Flags semi-flex nib – available in Fine, Medium or Broad. These nibs were only launched in 2014 but have had world-wide acclaimed as being a delight to write! See some of the reviews on our website – 5 stars given.  You can also have these nibs custom ground to italic, stub, or oblique

The Conway Stewart Wordsworth Cardinal Ripple is a timelessly elegant, mid-sized pen with a slight taper to the barrel and a gently rounded top to the cap, reminiscent of the larger and weightier Winston.

Named after the 19th Century English Romantic poet, William Wordsworth. Each Conway Stewart Wordsworth pen comes in a Conway Stewart black leather  presentation box which also serves as a showcase pen stand for your desk, together with a Certificate of Authenticity, Conway Stewart User Guide and an anti-tarnish pen cleaning cloth to keep it in sparkling condition.

Provenance and Authenticity of the Conway Stewart Wordsworth Cardinal Ripple

The components for this pen were acquired by Bespoke British Pens from the Administrators of Conway Stewart Manufacturing Ltd in October 2014 following the closure of the Conway Stewart Plymouth factory. As such, you can rely on the provenance and authenticity of these components as genuine Conway Stewart parts which have been carefully assembled by our technicians to a very high standard.
